FounderFuel Program Manager

Role

We are looking for a motivated, energetic, and meticulous program manager to drive operations for FounderFuel, Canada’s leading venture accelerator. As FounderFuel’s Program Manager, you will work directly with the General Manager and larger Real team to deliver all aspects of the program including design, company sourcing and selection, and program execution. The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Canada’s innovation ecosystem.  

Responsibilities

  • Drive program recruitment including events and communications
  • Support all aspects of company selection including investment decisions
  • Drive the due diligence for selected companies
  • Help design FounderFuel programming and schedule
  • Own logistics for the entire program, from onboarding to Demo Day
  • Manage the day-to-day program calendar and all events
  • Build relationships with each cohort company and support their needs
  • Manage all sponsor relationships and overall budget
  • Own the larger FounderFuel brand including web presence
  • Act as an ambassador of FounderFuel and Real Ventures within the community

Qualifications

  • University degree
  • 1 – 3 years work experience in a startup or technology company
  • Excellent project management skills and track record of delivering projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English and French
  • Able to work effectively with digital tools including Google spreadsheets and Asana
  • Attentive to detail and ability to consistently output high-quality work
  • Able to handle a fast-paced and occasionally high-stress environment   
  • Passionate about technology and the power of entrepreneurship to shape the future
  • Experience with event management a plus

FRV Marketing + Platform Manager

Front Row Ventures is the first Candian venture capital fund managed entirely by students that invests only in student-led startups. In partnership with Real Ventures, FRV has successfully run a $600K Quebec-focused pilot fund over the past two years. Operating across 9 university campuses in Quebec, FRV’s active investment team now counts 15 outstanding students from diverse backgrounds. Powered by Real, FRV is currently raising a $10M fund to expand its operations to more than 30 university campuses across Canada.

Role

We are seeking a dynamic go-getter for the position of Marketing + Platform Manager for FRV. This person will join the Real Ventures family to help build FRV’s programming and ensure a successful launch across Canada. As a core member of the FRV HQ team, the successful applicant will report to the Front Row Ventures Director and own various aspects of FRV’s growth strategy and expansion operations, as well as leading FRV’s national marketing from our headquarters in Montreal.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the brand, the national marketing direction, and provide the community teams with marketing guidelines(~8 people across Canada)
  • Build FRV’s presence as a voice in venture capital and student entrepreneurship by developing in-depth industry reports, educational content, and partnerships
  • Manage FRV’s content strategy (blog posts, podcasts, etc),  produce marketing/communications materials, and support/manage each chapter’s content creation
  • Manage and grow FRV’s online audience across our various platforms (social media, newsletter, etc.)
  • Develop and manage the necessary infrastructure for FRV’s growth so it can operate at scale, including leading the creation of its online platform for team management and investor relations
  • Write, post, monitor and report on social media activity (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • Do market research, compile and prepare a variety of reports and presentations for conferences, meetings, etc. with investors
  • Use good judgment to screen, prioritize and determine actions for incoming emails/inquiries
  • Manage daily calendars including scheduling of meetings, appointments and booking of travel arrangements
  • Other marketing-related or ops-related tasks as they come up

Qualifications

  • University degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a relevant field
  • Bilingual (French/English) with English as your first language and are known for your strong writing skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • 2-4 years of experience in a similar role
  • You are a problem solver and fast learner who can identify problems, come up with solutions and execute them in fast-paced environments
  • You have excellent project management skills and a track record of delivering results
  • You have experience planning, writing, editing and promoting content across various platforms
  • You are data-driven, with the ability to analyze, test and optimize strategies
  • You are motivated by the idea of finding new and creative ways to grow and engage a niche community
  • You are passionate about technology and the power of entrepreneurship to shape the future
  • You are known for your exceptional organization, follow-through and hustle
  • You have a strong social media presence on Twitter and other social networks (must be proficient with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Reddit, Quora)
  • You have pushed your own marketing projects to completion
  • You have experience with influencer marketing / graphic design / video production
