1. What is the Privacy Policy and what does it cover?

This Privacy Policy applies to our website at (our “Website”). This Privacy Policy does not apply to the collection, use, and/or disclosure of employee candidate, employee, or former-employee personal information.

We collect your information for different purposes, particularly to evaluate investment inquiries. You hereby agree that the information you provide to Real Ventures is correct; otherwise, it is possible that we will be unable to process any inquiries you make to us. Means & Purposes of Collection 

Identification Information

Name, email address

We collect this information when you fill in forms or sign up for our newsletter on our Website. 

This information allows us to:

  • Evaluate your inquiries for investments;
  • Support your tech and entrepreneurship events;
  • Send you marketing communications.

Racial Information

Belonging to Black community

We may collect this information when you fill in the “Join the Movement” form on the Rep Matters page on our Website.

This information allows us to support and evaluate the inquiries of Black Canadians for investments and other initiatives.

Technical Information

Date, time and duration of your visits on our Website, imprecise location (country), the pages viewed and links clicked on our Website, your language preferences, browsing history, web pages that redirected you to our Website, etc.

We collect this data using cookies and pixels on our Website, including those provided by trusted third parties who collect it on our behalf (such as Google Analytics).

This information allows us to compile aggregate data about traffic and interactions on our Website in order to improve the experience on our Website and to provide customized website experiences to our users.

Please note that we may also collect and use your information for any other purpose permitted or required by law. 

3. How do we share your information?

We share your information with third parties where necessary to fulfil the purposes identified above, including as set forth in the table below:



Partner Organizations

We may share your information with incubators, accelerators, investors, and/or non-profits operating in the startup ecosystem to refer your project and support its growth.

Service Providers

We may share your information to our authorized third party services providers providing us services such as website hosting, marketing, event management, or data storage.

Law Enforcement and Other authorities

We may receive requests by authorities to access your information. We will validate that the request is licit before responding. When possible, we will advise you. We will only share what is strictly required.

Commercial Transactions

We may share your information with an acquirer, successor or assignee as part of any merger, acquisition, debt financing, sale of assets, or similar transaction, as well as in the event of an insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership in which information is transferred to one or more third parties as one of our business assets.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 14 on our Website.
