Fund Accountant

Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, the Fund Accountant will be a key participant in the efficient and timely recording and maintenance of all transactions with portfolio companies, investors, suppliers and other stakeholders of the business.

This individual is a go-getter with great initiative and sound judgement who recognizes the value-add of being careful with details and processes while also being able to improve and find efficiencies. 

The Fund Accountant occupies a highly supportive role within the company and is a key element for the coordination and execution of the various administrative and accounting tasks of the business.



  • Participation in the production of quarterly and annual financial statements;
  • Responsibilities in the annual audit;
  • Support for the quarterly investment portfolio valuation;
  • Involved in the operations of the management company and related entities;
  • Support for managing the relationship with external bookkeepers;
  • Reconciliation of the bank account and transactions;
  • Accounts payable and receivable processing;
  • Management of Governmental correspondence.

Investor Relations:

  • Responsible for reporting and data analysis for investors;
  • Data management.


  • Tracking and filing of investment-related documents;
  • Tracking and filing of legal and general corporate-related documents.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & accounting designation, an asset;
  • 2-4 years experience;
  • Knowledge of web-based accounting software. Knowledge of Xero an asset;
  • Microsoft Office capabilities, including advanced excel skills, are essential;
  • Must be able to multi-task;
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented;
  • Proactive;
  • Is comfortable in a small company environment;
  • Comfortable working remotely (at least initially) due to COVID-19.
  • Bilingual (French and English).
