At Real Investment Management Inc. (“Real Ventures”, “we,” “us,” or “our”), we want you to understand what information we collect, and how we use and share it. That is why we encourage you to read our Privacy Policy before using our Website. 

1. What is the Privacy Policy and what does it cover?

This Privacy Policy applies to our website at https://realventures.com/ (our “Website”). This Privacy Policy does not apply to the collection, use, and/or disclosure of employee candidate, employee, or former-employee personal information.

If you click through links to third party websites or applications from our Website, this Privacy Policy does not apply to such external services. It is always a good idea to read their privacy policies to understand what they do with your information.

2. What information do we collect and why?

We collect your information for different purposes, particularly to evaluate investment inquiries. You hereby agree that the information you provide to Real Ventures is correct; otherwise, it is possible that we will be unable to process any inquiries you make to us. This information allows us to support and evaluate the inquiries of Black Canadians for investments and other initiatives.

Date, time and duration of your visits on our Website, imprecise location (country), the pages viewed and links clicked on our Website, your language preferences, browsing history, web pages that redirected you to our Website, etc.

We collect this data using cookies and pixels on our Website, including those provided by trusted third parties who collect it on our behalf (such as Google Analytics).

This information allows us to compile aggregate data about traffic and interactions on our Website in order to improve the experience on our Website and to provide customized website experiences to our users.

Please note that we may also collect and use your information for any other purpose permitted or required by law. 

3. How do we share your information?

We share your information with third parties where necessary to fulfil the purposes identified above, including as set forth in the table below:

We may receive requests by authorities to access your information. We will validate that the request is licit before responding. When possible, we will advise you. We will only share what is strictly required.

We may share your information with an acquirer, successor or assignee as part of any merger, acquisition, debt financing, sale of assets, or similar transaction, as well as in the event of an insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership in which information is transferred to one or more third parties as one of our business assets.

By submitting information to us, you consent to the communication of your information to, and the storage of that information, outside of your region. Finally, you also have a right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection authority, in particular in the region where you normally reside, where we are based or where an alleged infringement of data protection law has taken place, such as the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 14 on our Website. 8. How to unsubscribe to marketing communications?

If at any time you wish to stop receiving marketing communications from us, we include an unsubscribe mechanism in all of our marketing emails or you can contact us as set forth in the section below “How to contact us?”

Please keep in mind that, if you choose not to receive marketing communications, you will continue to receive communications related to investment and event inquiries, funding, or other requests made to us through our Website.
