Time to vote for the 2017 Canadian Startup Awards!

It is that time of year again! Join the tech community in recognizing awesome founders and companies doing great things in the Canadian ecosystem. You can now vote here. Polls close Sunday, February 19th at Midnight so don’t wait to do it!

We are thrilled to see that people from the Real Ventures family are being recognized in the 2017 nominations. The following companies and founders have been nominated:

Breather – Startup of the Year

In 2016, Montreal headquartered Breather grew its team to over 120 employees, opened its 300th “Breather”, launched its 10th and first European city, London, and closed a US$40M Series C led by Menlo Ventures.

Mike Serbinis, League – Entrepreneur of the Year

Serial successful entrepreneur, Mike Serbinis, is the co-founder and CEO of League, the digital alternative to traditional health benefits. In June 2014, League closed one of the largest Series A rounds in Canadian tech history.

BenchSci – New Startup

BenchSci’s powerful ML software has decoded millions of scientific papers and made them easily searchable. As a result, research scientists are able to quickly find previously unaccessible data, enabling them to achieve scientific breakthroughs faster.

Smooch – New Startup

Smooch’s B2C messaging platform allows businesses to engage with consumers by integrating chat into mobile and web interfaces. More than 3500 businesses in 150 countries use Smooch every day to communicate effectively with their customers.
